PARMA, Mo., -- A Parma man was killed Friday in a crash involving a 13-year-old driver, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Police reports indicate that 72-year-old Willie Davis died after the sports utility vehicle he was riding in overturned into a creek.
The driver, 13-year-old James Travis, also of Parma, apparently lost control of the vehicle on loose gravel, police said.
The relationship between Davis and Travis was unclear late Friday.
The crash occurred about 1:30 p.m., on New Madrid County Road 315 in West Marston, police said.
Davis and Travis were alone in the vehicle when the car ran off the right side of the road, struck a bridge rail and overturned into a creek.
Neither was wearing a seatbelt.
Davis was pronounced dead at the scene by New Madrid County Coroner Tim Clayton and transported to Richards Funeral Home.
