Parks closed: Cape Girardeau closes access to parks, playgrounds, athletic courts

Playgrounds are intertwined with caution tape and basketball goals no longer have hoops in parks throughout Cape Girardeau on Thursday, April 2, 2020, as city employees finish closing access to Cape Girardeau parks amenities including the skate park, dog park, FitZone and the city's various athletic courts. The citywide closures were announced Wednesday and went into effect immediately. Trails and green space throughout the city will remain open, according to the announcement which advised guests to avoid groups of more than ten people and stay six feet or further away from non-household members.
