Parking to be restricted for homecoming parade

Parking will be restricted downtown beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday for the Southeast Missouri State University homecoming parade, police said.

Motorists will not be allowed to park on either side of Broadway from North West End Boulevard to Main Street, Main Street from Park Drive to William Street, North West End Boulevard from Broadway to Parkview Drive, Perry Avenue from Broadway to Parkview, either side of Bellevue Street in front of Houck Stadium and both sides of Houck Place, according to a Cape Girardeau Police Department news release.

Officers will place signs and other traffic-control devices at these locations. Vehicles parked in any of those locations after 2 a.m. Saturday will be towed.

Parking will be restored on the city streets immediately after the parade, with the exception of Bellevue Street.
