Bob Parker, a rancher from Raymondville, Mo., has announced he will again be a candidate for Congress in Missouri's 8th Congressional District.

Parker is hoping to unseat U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson, a Cape Girardeau Republican, who has held the seat for the last 15 years. Parker, who ran against Emerson in the 2010 race, noted that he received 35 percent of the vote in the primary race, four times more votes than any other challenger for this seat in the past. Parker officially made the announcement in September at the meeting of the Texas County Republican Party. His website says that he was virtually unknown in many parts of the district before his campaign two years ago, but he said that is changing.
