A Cape Girardeau man found naked Tuesday in Arena Park is facing charges.
Michael W. Marberry, 56, has been charged with sexual misconduct involving a child by indecent exposure and possession of a controlled substance, both felonies, online court records show.
Marberry was found in possession of methamphetamine, according to an email from Sgt. Adam Glueck of the Cape Girardeau Police Department.
Police responded to calls of a naked man Tuesday afternoon at Arena Park and found Marberry there, wearing only his shoes.
In a probable-cause statement filed in the case, officer Eric Steiner wrote police observed in the area near Marberry several children who appeared to be younger than 14.
He tried to flee on a bicycle but was apprehended by police, Glueck said Tuesday.
Steiner wrote a backpack Marberry had with him contained four vibrating adult toys, including one officers saw in Marberry's right hand while at the park.
Marberry's bond has been set at $20,000 cash only, according to online court records.
Glueck said Marberry was in custody at the Cape Girardeau jail, awaiting transport to the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Department.
No court appearances have been scheduled.
