CHAFFEE -- The Parents as Teachers program for Chaffee, Delta, Kelso, Kelly and Scott City school districts will host a parent meeting Oct. 1.
The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Parents as Teachers office in the Chaffee High School Arts Building. Free babysitting, snacks and door prizes are available.
Kathy Casteel, a licensed nurse with St. Francis Medical Center, will discuss what to do in emergency situations.
Parents as Teachers is a free program offered through the public schools for families with children from birth to 4 years of age. A trained parent educator visits each family's home with information about child development. Parents meetings are also held throughout the school year. The parent educators will also screen children to try to detect any areas of concern.
For more information about the program call Kathy Heise at 887-6920.
