As part of the annual "Christmas Parade of Lights" event Sunday in Cape Girardeau, first-, second- and third-place certificates were awarded to entries in categories including theme, appearance (two classes), enthusiasm, best music and best lighting.

In addition, a first-place chair's certificate was awarded.

  • Theme winners: SEMO HOG No. 18, first place; Rhodes 101 No. 66, second place; and Cape Girardeau Jaycees No. 106, third place.
  • Class A appearance winners: SEMO Fair No. 9, first place; Hutson's Fine Furniture No. 15, second place; and First General Baptist Church No. 45, third place.
  • Class B appearance winners: Gator Swim Team No. 42, first place; Me & Ma's PR Express No. 65, second place; and Heartland Care and Rehab No. 11, third place.
  • Enthusiasm winners: SEMO Lawn Racers No. 22, first place; Cape Church of God No. 71, second place; and Bikers Against Child Abuse, No. 49, third place.
  • Best music winners: Notre Dame Marching Band No. 12, first place; Egyptian School Marching Band No. 25, second place; and Pagliai's Pizza No. 88, third place.
  • Best lighting winners: East Cape County Fire Protection No. 20, first place; JR. Sinjn Auto Parts No. 31, second place; and AmerenUE No. 74, third place.
  • The chairman's trophy was awarded to Heartland Telephone No. 48.

Judges for this year's parade included Dr. Roseanne Whitlow, Cherie Herbst, Lisa Letner, Debbie Farrow and Chuck Ross.

Numbers indicate numerical listing in the parade. Winners may pick up their framed certificates at the Old Town Cape office.
