Come on, let's have some fun.

The Southeast Missourian has launched a new contest that will earn the winner $1,000 in West Park Mall gift certificates. These Mall dollars can be spent in any store for clothing, electronics -- you name it.

Finish this one-liner and submit your entry.

"You are so Swampest Missouri if..." Here's some examples:

-- You promise your kids an afternoon treat, then take 'em to Wal-Mart to sample the goodies.

-- The only news you watch on TV is "Inside Edition."

-- You've never been all the way to Illinois.

Now, it's your turn. The best jokes are those that reflect a true flavor of local events and people.

Participants should use an official entry form that is published daily in the paper. One joke per form, please.

The deadline for entries is Saturday, Sept. 19. Forms can be dropped off at all newspaper offices; the Southeast Missourian stand at the West Park Mall each Friday, Saturday and Sunday; or at the newspaper booth that opens Sept. 12 at the SEMO District Fair.

Every entry will be published in the Wednesday, Sept. 29 edition of the newspaper along with caricatures of the winning jokes.
