The Southeast Missouri Pachyderm Club will host Cape Girardeau and Jackson city officials at its Thursday meeting to discuss upcoming ballot initiatives.

On Aug. 4, Jackson voters will decide on a $11.5 million water-system bond issue. Cape Girardeau voters will decide whether to renew a half-cent transportation sales tax, also known as the Transportation Trust Fund.

The program will be at Dexter Bar-B-Que, 236 S. Broadview St. in Cape Girardeau and is open to the public.

The group gathers at 6 p.m. to eat. A brief business meeting begins at 6:45 p.m., and the program follows at 7 p.m.
