JACKSON -- Jackson High School's spring production, "Our Miss Brooks," will be performed Friday and Saturday in the school auditorium at 7:30 p.m.

The play, written by R.J. Mann and adapted by Christopher Sergel, is about a young high-school English teacher, Miss Brooks, who falls in love with the school's coach, Hugo Longacre.

The part of Miss Brooks is played by Beth Link and Longacre is played by Thad Horrell.

In the play, trouble begins when the coach's star player, Ted (Wesley Cook), can't make practice because he's got the lead in the school play, of which Miss Brooks is the director.

After romance develops between the two lead characters in the fictional school play, the entire school is in an uproar.

Other main characters are played by LaDonna Upchurch, (Mrs. Finch); Sam Eatherton, (Mr. Wadsworth); Lisa Shirley, (Miss Audubon); Sarah French, (Mrs. Allen); Amy Bess, (Jane); and Nikki Stallion, (Elsie).

The play is directed by Joyce Schroader and student directed by Neely Woods.

Tickets are $2.50 for adults and $1.50 for students. It is produced by special arrangement by Dramatic Publishing Co., Woodstock, Ill.
