Two hunter safety courses are scheduled in Cape County this month. The Cape Girardeau VFW Post 3838 and Ladies Auxiliary will host a day-long class, Aug. 3, to be held at 1049 N. Kingshighway, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.. The Jackson Elks Lodge, Route 3, will host a three-night course, Aug. 13, 14, and 15, from 6 to 10 p.m. Attendance at all three sessions is required for certification...

These will be the only courses offered in Cape County prior to the Aug. 31 deadline for firearms any-deer permit applications.
