April 16 through 22 has been designated National Organ & Tissue Donor Awareness Week. A walk has been planned to help draw attention to the serious shortage of organ and tissue donations.

The walk will be Thursday at 6 p.m. Registration starts at 5 p.m., and banners for contest must be registered by 5:30 p.m.

The walk will start at the KFVS television station to Riverfront Park Pavilion.

There will be a banner contest. Prizes will be awarded to the group who creates a banner that depicts the organ tissue donation theme. Schools and organizations are welcome to carry their banners.

Contest prizes include: Imo's Pizza Party for 10 people, group train ride on St. Louis Iron Mountain and Southern Railway. Attendance prize will be dinner for two at Mollies.
