ORAN, Mo. -- A two-car accident Tuesday afternoon sent both drivers, including an Oran woman, to a Cape Girardeau hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 4:15 p.m. when a 1993 Toyota truck driven by Sarah J. Worl, 21, of Springfield, Mo. was attempting to turn onto Highway 77 from Route W.
The Toyota then pulled into the path of a 1999 Ford driven by Latonya L. Phillips, 33, of Oran. The Toyota was struck on its front left side by the Ford.
Both vehicles were totaled. The drivers were taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Worl, who was wearing her seat belt, was treated for minor injuries while Phillips, who was not wearing a seat belt, sustained moderate injuries.
