ORAN -- Sabrina Tyler, a sophomore at Oran High School, has been named a Missouri Scholar by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
She will be attending a three-week Missouri Scholars Academy this summer at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Tyler is one of approximately 300 high school sophomores from across the state who were selected to attend the academy. Tuition and expenses for the academy are provided by the state.
The academy offers academically gifted students the opportunity to enhance their skills by offering classes that differ from traditional educational programs.
She is the daughter of Jim and Barbara Tyler of Oran.
