An Oran, Mo., man accused of destroying up to 1,000 pieces of mail in Southeast Missouri appeared with his attorney Stephen Wilson and waived filing any pretrial motions Wednesday in federal court before U.S. Magistrate Judge Thomas C. Mummert III.
In late January, Lance W. Kinder, 25, pleaded not guilty to the felony of delaying or destroying mail in federal court.
In future court proceedings, Kinder can't object to the admission of evidence on the basis that it was unlawfully obtained.
Kinder, a former U.S. Postal Service employee, allegedly delayed the delivery of the large amount of mail between Aug. 1 and Dec. 5 of last year in Scott County as well as other locations in Southeast Missouri.
Kinder was released on a $5,000 bond shortly after his arrest in January.
