An Oran, Missouri, man is facing a pair of drug charges after a burglary investigation led to the discovery of methamphetamine in a residence, the Scott County Sheriff's Department reported Friday.

Joshua Allen Freeman, 29, of Oran was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, according to a news release from the department.

Shortly before noon Thursday, while investigating a report of a possible burglary at Freeman's home in Oran, a Scott County deputy obtained information that led him to suspect there was methamphetamine in the home, the release states.

Freeman gave a second deputy permission to conduct a search, which turned up a bag containing possible drug paraphernalia, including glass pipes, straws and a small spoon with white residue on them that tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the release.

Freeman admitted ownership of the items and was taken to the Scott County Jail, where he submitted to a urinalysis and tested positive for THC, methamphetamine and amphetamines, the release stated.
