An Oran, Missouri, man is in custody after police say he beat a woman outside their residence.
Mark Gordon, 42, faces charges of second-degree domestic assault and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.
Scott County sheriff’s deputies responded to reports Saturday of a domestic disturbance at a residence outside Oran, where they found the victim crying outside, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
She had blood and red marks on her chest and arms and a cut on her leg, the release stated. She told police she and Gordon had argued while driving. She said Gordon began hitting her in the head and face as she drove home with her two juvenile children in the car. When they arrived home, Gordon broke out the driver’s-side window and tried to pull the victim through while continuing to beat her, the release stated.
Deputies arrested Gordon inside the home. A search found items covered with burned marijuana residue.
Gordon remains in custody in the Scott County Jail on $2,500 bond.
