ORAN KC SET TO HOLD FOURTH OF JULY PICNIC

ORAN -- Horseshoe pitching, bingo playing, music, dancing and fireworks are all planned for the annual Oran Fourth of July picnic Thursday.

The picnic is sponsored by Knights of Columbus 4311.

Gerald Landewee, advertising chairman, said events begin Thursday with a family-style dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dinner will be served again from 4-7:30 p.m.

"We have special, free attractions available throughout the day," Landewee said.

A number of old gasoline engines will be on display.

From 4-7 p.m. the Golden Slippers band will perform.

A variety of games including a fish pond and bingo will be held during the day.

"We will have a train ride," Landewee said.

At 1 p.m. the annual horseshoe tournament will begin.

A dance is planned from 8:30 p.m. to midnight featuring music by Charlie's Music Review.

And at 10:30 p.m., Landewee said, a fireworks display is planned.

Admission to the picnic if free.
