The 2001 season of the Jackson Girls' Basketball League, sponsored by the Jackson Noon Optimist Club, has ended. More than 290 girls, grades 3-8, participated in the program this year.
Practices and games were held weekly during January and February at Orchard Elementary, Jackson Middle School and R.O. Hawkins Junior High gymnasiums.
A tournament at all levels brought the season to a close. On Feb. 25, championship games for grades 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8 were held at the Jackson Middle School. Trophies were presented to the first- and second-place winners in each division.
