CAPE GIRARDEAU -- The Breakfast Optimist Club of Cape Girardeau has earned the Honor Club and Distinguished President awards from Optimist International for its community service work in the year ending Sept. 30, 1990.

The awards recognize the club for, among other things, programs in youth service and membership growth.
"The Honor Club and Distinguished President awards exemplify the highest level of service by an Optimist Club to its community," said Kenneth E. Monschein, Optimist International president of St. Louis.
