OPENINGS REMAIN FOR INTERNET CLASS

Eleven openings remain for the May 11 and 10 remain for the May 20 beginning Internet classes offered by the Southeast Missourian web staff.

The May 11 class will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Dempster Hall on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University. On May 20, the class will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The university is a co-sponsor of the community training.

The class is geared to beginners who want to learn more about the Internet and World Wide Web. Practical surfing tips will be offered along with a number of handouts and a free gift.

Individuals interested in taking the class should call Joni Adams or Peggy Scott at 335-6611 to register. Payment of $10 must be made before the class starts and can be mailed or brought to the newspaper office at 301 Broadway.

The class draws from a large region. For example, recent attendees came from Benton, Sikeston, Marble Hill, Wyatt, Farmington, Ste. Genevieve, and Miller City and McClure in Illinois.

Staff members from SEMissourian.com, the Web site of the Southeast Missourian, will be on hand to direct students.

In addition, individuals can also sign up for a repeat of the class on June 8 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. or June 17 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Each class is limited to 38 people, and each student will be provided a computer.

Future classes will be held on the second Monday and third Wednesday of each month.
