The city of Cape Girardeau will host a public open house from 4:30-7:30 p.m. today to get public comment on proposed Bloomfield Road improvements.
Project staff will be on hand at the A.C. Brase Arena Building to answer questions from citizens. Maps of the area, fact sheets and comment cards will be available.
Current plans for the road are to widen and reconstruct the 1.25-mile section between Kingshighway on the east end and the bridge over Interstate 55 on the west end.
The open house is the second of three public information sessions the city will conduct to inform residents about road projects funded by the 1995 transportation sales tax.
Those who wish to comment but are unable to attend the meeting may send written remarks to City Engineer Mark Lester, P.O. Box 617, Cape Girardeau, Mo. 63702-0617.
