Cape Christian School, 1855 Perryville Road, will add a seventh grade class to its curriculum this fall.
"Many parents who have children in our grade school at present have suggested that we continue the program to the ninth grade," said Bonnie Nations, administrator and principal of the school, which currently has class for kindergarten through sixth grades."
The school's plans will be discussed during an open house session at the school Tuesday at 7 p.m., in Room 121.
"This will be an open house for the public," said Nations. "We want to show what we area offering at the school. Teachers will be on hand, and textbooks will be available for viewing."
The school, located in a building at the Bethel Assembly of God Church, has about 75 students.
"This is a non-denominational school," said Nations. "It is open to the public. We use the ABEKA curriculum, which includes all the basic studies history, sciences, English, math along with bible study. We emphasize a basic fundamental education."
Nations said the school's goal will be to eventually provide education through the ninth grade.
"We feel that the seventh grade is an important level for students," said Nations. "They are pre-teen or beginning teenage."
She added that all teachers are certified.
"We started our K-through-six program in 1975," she said.
Additional information is available by contacting Nations at 335-5532.
