One man died and another was seriously injured after a Saturday morning traffic accident on Highway 25.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the crash happened at 7:20 a.m., half a mile north of Gordonville.
The accident occurred as a northbound 2010 Chrysler, driven by Jimmy L. Tankersley, 67, of Jackson crossed the center line and collided with Christopher W. Chastain's southbound 2010 Ford.
Tankersley was pronounced dead at the scene by Cape Girardeau County coroner John Clifton; he was not wearing a safety device, the report said.
Chastain, 33, of Cape Girardeau, sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center. He was wearing a safety device, according to the crash report.
Both vehicles were totaled, and neither contained passengers.
