JACKSON -- The driver of a pickup truck remains in St. Francis Medical Center following a three-vehicle accident on Highway 34 about two miles west of here Saturday morning.

Michael Bell, 18, of Millersville, suffered injuries about 11:30 a.m. when the truck he was driving crashed head-on with a car driven by Mollissa Grinder, 39, of Lebanon, Mo.

Missouri State Police report that the truck, traveling west, veered into the path of the Grinder vehicle, traveling east. Authorities say that the impact forced the hood of the truck into the air. It struck a third vehicle, driven by Eunice Oliver, 47, Farmington.

Bell was taken to St. Francis Medical Center, where he remains.

Mollissa Grinder and three passengers in her car -- George Grinder, 74, Tamie Grinder, 18, and Nicole Grinder, 17 -- were taken to St. Francis Medical Center, where they were treated and released.

Carol Fairclothe, 47, of Farmington, a passenger in the Oliver car, suffered minor injuries.
