BLOOMFIELD, Mo. — One of the two Stoddard County inmates who broke out of the county jail late last night has been captured, county police said just after noon.
Stoddard County Sheriff Carl Hefner reported that John Kacey Jones was captured in Clay County, Ark. near Piggott.
Two Stoddard County inmates reportedly broke out of the county jail late Monday night, Jones and Manual Ajanel.
According to Hefner, the two escaped at approximately 10:36 p.m. through an air conditioning duct in the ceiling.
Jones was arrested in Friday's drug bust on drug charges.
Ajanel is 24 years old, 5 foot 4 inches tall and about 130 pounds. He is of Hispanic origin with dark hair and skin. He was arrested on charges of forcible rape in early 2008.
Hefner said all of the area schools have been contacted and have instituted their individual policies.
