KENNETT, Mo. -- Kennett police arrested a man Monday in connection with a series of vehicle break-ins that have occurred throughout the community in recent weeks.
Capt. Tim Trowbridge said a search warrant was served in the 400 block of St. Francis Street in Kennett. Police arrested one male suspect and recovered what they believe is evidence from the most recent vehicle break-in.
Trowbridge said more arrests are expected, as the department continues investigating the break-ins and a string of residential burglaries. Trowbridge said the crimes include 25 home burglaries through August and September, 16 vehicle-tampering cases and 96 thefts.
Officers are asking residents to be vigilant about suspicious activity in their neighborhoods. Anyone noticing strange vehicles or unfamiliar individuals who appear to be acting oddly, are asked to call Kennett Police at 573-888-4622.
