SIKESTON, Mo. -- A Sikeston man is in jail on drug charges after being arrested during a Southeast Missouri Street Crimes Task Force operation.
Desmond Jerrod Minner, 36, was arrested after a detective from the Sikeston Department of Public Safety spotted Minner driving a vehicle on West Murray Lane about 6:10 p.m. Friday.
The detective, Flint Dees, had been advised Thursday that Minner's drivers license was suspended, so he initiated a vehicle stop on Carroll Street.
After placing Minner under arrest for driving while suspended, Dees noted a plastic shopping bag sitting on the back seat. It was found to contain 111 grams of a substance believed to be marijuana.
Before leaving the scene, Dees also found a bag he said he believed was thrown from the vehicle that contained 64 grams of methamphetamine.
Minner denied owning either bag.
Minner is charged with second-degree felony drug trafficking and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
