Thanksgiving vandals who targeted mailboxes in rural Perry County have been caught, Perry County Sheriff Gary Schaaf said Friday.

Deputies arrested Adam J. Winkler, 17, of Perryville, Mo., and two juvenile companions who Schaaf said were allegedly responsible for 32 reports of damaged mailboxes around Thanksgiving.

"We were able to locate and identify the perpetrators due to a witness and certain evidence left at the scene of one of the incidents" Schaaf said in a news release. "We have charged one adult with 17 counts of property damage second degree, and his two juvenile counterparts have been referred to the juvenile authorities."
