The Southeast Missourian asked people about political issues on the November ballot.
Bob Herbst: "I've always followed campaign issues, but this year I have very little interest. It's very confusing, and I think nothing but clutter comes out of Congress and politicians."
Robert Hartmann: "The biggest problem I have is trying to figure out what the Hancock II amendment is all about. I'm interested, and I'm trying to get information about it. It seems like so many people are confused about it."
Ruth Withers: "I can't see how the Democrats can keep from losing ground. I think a lot of people want to change things, and they will go out and vote to do something about it."
Bob Rybarczyk: "I hope most people will vote against the Hancock II amendment. It will hurt education, because that's one of the first things in the state budget that gets cut. The gambling amendment will be big around here and also the senatorial race between Ashcroft and Wheat."
Rodney Ladreiter: "I've been following the Hancock issue. It seems like most people don't really understand it and so some people may not vote either way."
