ON THE STREET

The Southeast Missourian asked students at Chaffee Elementary School why they wanted to start a new school year.

Shannon Hampton: "We'll write to famous people this year in fourth grade. I like to write in school."

Justin Gadberry: "All my friends who I didn't see much in the summer are at school. I like math and writing.

Sarah Arnold: "School is fun. I couldn't wait to see all my friends again. The summer got a little boring at the end."

Shannon McIntosh: "I like school, because it's fun. I think I'll like studying about different countries this year."

Ashley Payne: "I got bored at home. This year I'll get to have science in another classroom."

Rusty Curry: "We'll have social studies with another teacher this year. I want to be in the science fair."
