ON THE STREET

This week the Southeast Missourian asked, "How would you feel about the Missouri Mule being displayed on the Missouri license plate?"

"I feel that all of the license plates are a bit confusing with the personalized plates...I think I would be opposed to the mule being pictured on the Missouri license plates. I kind of like the plates the way they are."

"I wouldn't care one way or the other."

"I don't think it's a good idea. I understand the history of the mule in Missouri and being a native of Missouri and having lived in other states as well I've seen lots of different plates...while the mule is important to the history of the state I still don't think it makes a suitable license plate."

"I know that a lot of people really want it but, I don't find it an attractive thing to have on a license plate. I think something prettier would be better."

"I don't it's a very good idea. I think they should use something more representative of Missouri instead of the animal, like the Arch or Mark Twain."
