The Southeast Missourian asked people, "Should Missouri legislators approve a bill that would make Missouri the 40th state to allow its citizens to carry concealed weapons?"
Kyle Griffith: "I think it would be bad, because people would be able to take guns with them virtually anywhere. I think people have the right to know whether someone else has a gun on them."
Harold Glasscock: "I think it would be a good idea, as long as they are checked out good and take the training so they are qualified to carry a gun."
Martha Corn: "Criminals are going to have concealed weapons anyway. However, I think that with more weapons out on the streets, then more people will be killed by them."
Earlie Williams: "I think it would be a good idea, because it's a dangerous society, and we need to protect ourselves. If the criminals are armed, then we might as well arm ourselves."
Bernadine Harper: "I don't think so. Having a concealed weapon might make a person think they have more power. They might pass a background check, but I don't think they would be checked deep enough."
