This week the Southeast Missourian asked, "How do you feel about replacement baseball players playing this year?"

Jerry Crouch, Farmington.

"I think it great. I think it's nice to be able to go out and see people who want to play the game just for the sake of playing it instead of for the money. I think all of the other players are overpaid anyway."

Derrick Walker, Sikeston.

"I think it hurts (the players) worse than it hurts the fans."

Jennifer Russell, Poplar Bluff.

"I think the replacement players need to know their responsibility on the team and they need to live up to the responsibility of what the old players used to carry. Replacement players need to be twice as good as the old players for fulfilling their responsibilities plus their job."

Ray Johnson, Farmington.

"I like it a lot better. The professionals were getting paid too much money as it was, and I would just as soon get the guys that need the break in there."

Andrew Steger, Cape Girardeau

"It's a lot better, because other people will have a chance."
