This week the Southeast Missourian asked, "What do you think about the law that was just passed that allows store clerks 18-20 years old to sell liquor?"
Ginger Daffron, Cape Girardeau
"I don't think they should be allowed to because 21 is the drinking age. They are going to think it's OK if they drink before they are 21 too."
Todd Seabaugh, Cape Girardeau
"I think it would be all right for them to sell it. The only problem is they're little buddies come in ... that could be an issue. If they sell it (liquor) to the underage, then the store is going to have to get the ticket and they're going to have to pay the fine."
Edward Brumagin, Cape Girardeau
"No. They are too young. They are around the alcohol at too early of an age. The more alcoholics the more drug addicts."
Loren Schuette, Cape Girardeau
"Well, I don't really see anything wrong with it if they're under the supervision of the store. They may try to sell it to their friends but, they will get caught just like anybody under 21 years old will."
Matt Kirk, Cape Girardeau
"I think it sounds OK just as long as ... if they're not old enough to buy it ... they can't drink it but, I think it's all right if they sell it. They're not actually not doing anything wrong. All they're doing is just passing it on to somebody else."
