This week the Southeast Missourian asked, How do you feel about the curfew in Cape Girardeau?" (It is 11 p.m. on weekdays and midnight on weekends for youths under 17 years old.)

"I think that would be a good law to enforce because I believe it would hold down some of the vandalism. ... I don't know about major crimes, but I believe it would help on juvenile crime."

I don't like it because it means I can't stay out late or anything....(I stay out until) 11 or midnight. When I come home there's nobody there so when the cops catch you they make you go home."

"Well, I really think if they're really going to have a curfew it should be for younger kids, I think. I think probably about 15 (years old) and under should have a curfew. Because, I think kids ... if they're 16 they should be able to be out as late as they want."
