Monday, the Missourian asked children what they thought of the Olympic torch and its passage through the area.
Blake Jones, 5
"The Olympics are the people who play the games. The torch is so everyone would know there is an Olympics."
Tayler Williams, 5
"The guy that's holding the candle [the torch] is coming to America. Now I can wave my flag."
Jacob Bender, 10
"It's great if [the torch] can stop war. It's a once-in-a-lifetime chance [to see it]. If you don't take it, you won't get it."
Denae Nagel, 12
"I think it's neat that it [the torch] is going through America because the Olympics are going to be in America this year. It's good we're the symbol of world peace in the U.S."
Danielle Nagel, 8
"It's the first time I've ever seen it [the torch]. I think it's good [the torch's journey] because it spreads peace across the world."
