This week the Southeast Missourian asked, "Do you think Missouri should follow Illinois' lead and lower the legal drunk driving limit to .08?"
Josie Zimmerman, Cape Girardeau
"Oh yes, I think the less people who drink and then get on the road the better."
Pat Zimmerman, Cape Girardeau
"I agree. If you lower the rate, people will drink less and make it more of an issue as far as drunk drivers on the road."
Nadine Chamberlain, Cape Girardeau
"I don't think they should because some people can handle more (alcohol). Just because they read a .08, it should be based on what they can handle, whether they can pass a sobriety test. I know people who can drink -- probably their blood alcohol level is over .10 and they're still fine."
Linda Lawrence, McClure, Ill.
"I don't think anybody should get behind the wheel of a vehicle under the influence of anything, drugs, alcohol. They should lower the limit."
Jake Busby, Bonne Terre
"Yes, I do. But I don't think it would really (cut down on people drinking) because people who are going to drink are going to drink anyway. They might as well keep it where it is."
