This week the Southeast Missourian asked, "What do you think of the proposal to eliminate the $500 loss limit on Missouri riverboat casinos?"
Irwin Faulkner, Tamms, Ill.
"I'm not a gambler but, I think if you can afford to lose 500 bucks, what's the big deal. I worry more about the people who get on gambling boats who spend the last few bucks of their grocery money. It's the same way with lottery tickets. It's the people who can't afford to blow all of their money. It doesn't make any difference to me. I don't care if they do it or not."
Lori Trepasso, Cape Girardeau
"I think you should be able to lose as much as you want to lose. Because if you're a grown person and you want to blow your paycheck on gambling, then more power to you."
Todd Davenport, Charleston
"I think people should be allowed to lose what they want to lose."
Sharon Propst, Cape Girardeau
"I think if they want to lose it, let them lose it."
Lee Schneider, Cape Girardeau
"I don't think they should eliminate it because sometimes people need some safeguards. Some people, just to keep from losing everything, need to know when to quit."
