The Southeast Missourian asked, "What do you think of the proposed bill that would allow Missourians to carry concealed weapons?"

"I'm afraid that it would lead to possible higher acts of crime. If a person might already be physically aggressive, if they become upset they might take things a step further. I would vote against it."

"I don't think it's beneficial at all there's no real need to carry a concealed gun. It would just make more problems than it would help."

Sam Santora, Benton

"I don't think it's a very good idea. Crime is already bad and now anybody who isn't a felon that's not suppose to be concealing a handgun that can conceal a handgun. Maybe that would give them the idea to commit a crime or something. I don't know. I don't want to be walking around in a mall or anywhere else thinking somebody might have a gun. That's nuts."

"I think it would be fine as long as the individual was properly checked out. I would personally be interested in having one."

"I think, for safety's sake, sometimes it wouldn't be a bad idea. I know people that go out could probably use some form of protection. Of course, the people who are going to get guns are going to get them anyway. If I had to be out alone, I wouldn't mind having one with me."
