This week the Southeast Missourian asked, "What do you think about the20judge's decision to reduce au pair Louise Woodward's sentence from life in prison to manslaughter?"

Amy Hyde, Cape Girardeau:

"I agree with the reduction of the sentence because there was evidence of a prior injury."

Toni Cartwright, Scott City:

"It's so hard because coming from a parent's standpoint nothing can recover the loss of your child. So, if you think at all she ended the child's life, I say throw the book at her. Then again, the parents didn't show a whole lot of remorse. I feel that if she in any way ended that child's life, even if there was a pre-existing physical injury, she should have life in prison."

Jackie Bushong, Benton:

"I didn't approve of it. Something went wrong with that baby, and there is more to it than meets the eye."

Juanita Miller, Cape Girardeau:

"I really have mixed feelings about it. I can understand if I were the parents how I'd feel, and then if I were the parents of the nanny, how I'd feel about it. I've just been puzzled by it."

Mark Caldwell, Cape Girardeau:

"I just think he must of had a good reason to do so. She was so young, and maybe he wasn't sure that it was intentional."
