This week the Southeast Missourian asked, Who do you think will win the home run race and how many will they have?"

Pete Dennis, Oran:

"I think Big Mack will. He's the man. He's got the cannons on him. Sixty-nine. I don't know, it's a good number."

Brian Johnston, Farmington:

"McGwire with 69. I was there for 62. It's just a lucky number."

Jim Wente, Cape Girardeau:

"I think it will be Mark McGwire with 67. It's just a wild guess, but it's probably reasonable. I think it's going to be real close, but I probably have a little bit of a bias because I'm a Cardinal fan and I like McGwire."

Nancy Bequette, Ste. Genevieve:

"I think McGwire will. Sixty seven. I think he will get two more. I think they might be tied. I hope they do actually."

Nance Morris, Cape Girardeau

"I think McGwire will win over Sammy Sosa. I would say he would win by two over Sosa. I just think that every time Sosa catches up McGwire says, OK I've got to do another one."
