The Southeast Missourian asked people about the movies which received Academy Awards.

Sharon Rosborg: "I saw `Titanic' a couple of weeks ago and liked it really well. It's a little long. My husband and daughter went with me, and my daughter saw it again the next weekend. I liked the love story the best, but also the sinking scenes."

Keith Ruesler: "I am not a big movie-goer, but I will probably wait to see `Titanic' when it comes out on video. It's not that much of a priority with me. If I find I have a couple of free hours, then I sometimes watch a movie on video."

Nancy Accardo: "I thought `Titanic' was a good movie. It had a lot of historical information in it. The clothing and the way the era was portrayed looked accurate to me. My husband saw it with me, and he liked it too."

The Rev. David Johnson: "I thought `Titanic' helped a lot of people understand what is really important in life. It showed people in a crisis turning to God, realizing that their wealth and human pride didn't mean anything when they were faced with going down with the ship."

Marilyn Lowes: "I saw `Titanic' with my daughters when it first came out. We were there three hours, but it seemed like just an hour and a half. I had seen an older version years ago, `A Night to Remember,' and there is just no comparison."
