This week the Southeast Missourian asked, "Do you favor a military strike against Iraq for not complying with the U.N. weapons inspection team?"
Eric Smith, Cape Girardeau
"If Iraq continues to ignore the U.N. Resolution then I favor a full military strike against them."
Rich Benton, Cape Girardeau
"Only if it's the last resort. If there's a possibility that Clinton and Hussein might be able to meet face to face then I'd rather see that happen before military force but if there's no other alternative, then yeah I would support it."
Peggy Blattel, Cape Girardeau
"Yes, I do. I think that we need to let Hussein know that we mean business and that he is not going to get away with making these kinds of weapons."
Louis Launhardt, Jackson
"I'm ambivalent about it. I think that if diplomacy isn't working maybe that (a military strike) becomes a necessity but it certainly is a very unhappy possibility. I think diplomacy should be tried and especially with the other nations of the area."
Judy Millburg, Cape Girardeau
"I don't really favor a military strike at this time. I think it would lead to a bigger war. It's too bad he's calling the punches. I would like other countries to be behind us with that."
