Last week, Old Town Cape announced it received a National Main Street Accreditation at the National Main Streets Conference in Seattle. The National Main Street Program Accreditation is a review process conducted by a representative from the National Trust Main Street Center headquartered in Washington, D.C., to evaluate downtown revitalization organizations.
This was the third consecutive year OTC has received national accreditation.
The evaluation process looks at 10 criteria. It's a rigorous review evaluating community support, office operations, involvement of volunteers and committees, the organization's involvement in community development, and its participation in the National Main Street Network. It also looks at how well the program adheres to the model of the Main Street "Four Point Approach."
