Old photographs are still being sought for a picture book of Cape Girardeau history, which will be published later this year.

The newspaper will make negatives of each photograph, and then return the print to the owners. Identification and history of the photograph is also helpful, said Sanders.

"Obviously, the older the better," she said. "The only prerequisite is that the photograph has something to do with Cape Girardeau."

"The segment we're really lacking right now is photographs of local black history," she said. "This is an important part of the book, and we want it to be photographically represented."
