Some toys never go out of style and still are making the wish lists of area children whose families are in need.
Toybox has received dozens of requests for Bob the Builder, SpongeBob SquarePants, Scooby-Doo, Spider-Man and Barbie toys this year.
Toybox is a joint effort of the Southeast Missourian and Cape Girardeau Jaycees that provides Christmas gifts to needy children.
LeeAnn, 4 1/2, wants a Barbie styling head doll, a Barbie car and an Easy-Bake oven for Christmas this year.
Alex, her 3 1/2-year-old sister, also wants a Barbie doll. She'd also like some Teletubbies and a Barney Move 'n' Grove dance mat.
The youngest child, 2 1/2-year-old Matt, wants some Bob the Builder toys and Tonka Trucks.
Donations of new, unused toys are being collected at Southeast Missourian offices in Cape Girardeau and Jackson, AAA Travel Agency, First National Bank, First Missouri State Bank, Bank of America, Sanders True Value, Bank of Missouri, Capaha Bank, Cingular Wireless, Union Planters Bank, Alliance Bank, Toys R Us, Commerce Bank, Westfield Shoppingtown West Park, U.S. Bank and Wehrenberg Theatres.
