The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to halt traffic on the Ohio River Bridge between Wickliffe, Ky., and Cairo, Ill., starting at 10:30 a.m. today, according to a news release issued by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

An electrical crew plans to halt traffic for about 30 to 45 minutes to replace the aviation light on top of the bridge superstructure, the release said. This work requires use of a man-lift that takes up both lanes of travel on the bridge deck.

Replacement of the aviation light at the top of the bridge is required to maintain safety of the bridge and aircraft flying in the area, the release said. The bridge serves U.S. 51, 60 and 62.
