KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Officials are monitoring rising water after more rain fell in Missouri. The State Emergency Management Agency says several rivers are overflowing their banks. The National Weather Service says major flooding is occurring near Ewing in eastern Missouri, where the North Fabius River crested Saturday at more than 11 feet above flood stage. Elsewhere, moderate flooding is occurring along rivers including the Grand, Missouri, Blackwater and Platte. Forecasters are calling for continued rain and thunderstorms throughout the weekend in many areas of the state. In southwest Missouri, most of the flooding has been reported in low-water crossings where roads pass through drainage areas. Some roads have been closed in rural areas.
