Officers were directed to the home where the dogs' owner lives. As one of the officers tried to get in touch with the owner, about six dogs ran toward him from the rear of the home.

A second dog was wounded in the face but is expected to survive. It was reported the owner was out of town; it wasn't clear how the dogs were able to run free.
